Get vaccinated at the COVID-19 pop up sites and bus
Date posted: 18th June 2021PEOPLE living in West Lancashire have been urged to take advantage of COVID-19 pop up sites and a vaccine bus that will be visiting the area over the next three weeks.
Starting on Wednesday 23 June 2021 at the Tanhouse Community Centre in Ennerdale and running until Saturday 10 July 2021 at sites across our borough, the pop-up sites and mobile bus will aim to reach out to people who as of now, may have had difficulties in visiting the existing permanent sites.
The local NHS is working with GP practices and West Lancashire Borough Council to provide the service in areas where vaccine uptake is lowest in a bid to ensure as many people as possible are protected against COVID-19.
Councillor Vickie Cummins, portfolio holder for Health and Wellbeing at West Lancashire Borough Council, said: “We have witnessed a huge uptake of COVID-19 vaccinations across West Lancashire, which has been fantastic. However, we would like to see this increased further across the whole borough.
“I would encourage anyone who is yet to make an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccine to pop over and get a vaccine at one of our pop-up sites or via our vaccine bus, so they are protected against the virus. We all want to see a return to normality and to make sure as many people as possible are vaccinated.
“A real collaborative approach has been applied to staffing and supporting these sites and I would like to thank all GP, local authority, CCG staff and volunteers for all coming together, illustrating once again how everyone is working together to help us get through this national health crisis.”
